Persian miniatures from Rasoul Motamedi and marquetry from Ali Shahmiweh

Persian miniatures and marquetry have found together. Two renowned artists have created unique, Persian art. The composition is composed of two pictures and a magnificent armchair set, which complement a noble wood table. It is characterized by the interaction of the two innovative creators, who have established their outstanding reputation through virtuoso fine work. Synergy effects, which have developed their own life through this harmonious perfection, are used synergistically.
At first there was no such composition from Persian miniature painting and marquetry. A US-American industrialist, who has been working with Persian works for many years, has commissioned this order. It was first an opportunity that changed slowly but inexorable in something bigger. As the inspirational subtleties of both artifacts were automatically supplemented, the project got its own life. Embedded thumbnails -already included in the surface- developed a close relationship to the insert and miniature motifs of the table top. The similarity of the motifs speaks for itself. An individual touch with a collective origin reflecting both the splendor and the philosophy of Persia.

The commissioned work was carried out by Rasoul Motamedi and Ali Shahamiweh. Both have been friends for a long time, which meant that it was time to create something together. The inquiry on this subject came just right. The dispatch to America, however, had unexplained restrictions and failed at the then embargo. So this set never came to the USA, but found a lover in Iran. After an indescribable Odyssey the Persian miniature pictures came to Hamburg. The paintings themselves are the most prominent representatives of the Persian miniature painting. Their effort and procedure are enormous so that usually small pictures are drawn.
However, this is a remarkable 3.0 x 1.3 meter large Persian work of art reproducing a traditional polo game on Imam's Isfahan Square. Only on closer inspection are the large number of very detailed facets become visible at all. When you look at this work of art, you have to bring enough time, and you will only discover further fine drawings, which were not noticed at first. It is precisely this Persian miniature painting that lives from the individual passages that all want to be explored. Be there and dive into the world of Persian miniature painting.

The second illustration shows his stylized picture of paradise (2.2x1.7meters) with the well-known philosopher Hafes. Motamedi was inspired by his teacher Mahmood Farshchian, the great master of Persian miniature painting.

Six historical dynasties

Six historical dynasties are depicted in Persian miniatures on the table top.Surrounded by excellent marquetry. In antiquity the Achaemenids (550-330 BC) and the Sassanids (224-651 AD) were dominated over the Middle Ages by the Seedids (819-1005 AD) and Seljuks (1038- 1194 AD), immortalized until the modern era with the Safavids (1501-1765 AD) and Pahlavi (1925-1979). These dynasties were supplemented by elaborate Persian miniature paintings on the rear side of the armchairs. This table is not really created to be covered by a tablecloth. This table and its six chairs should only be used for really special occasions. However, it would be a shame not to assign these artifacts to their original use. Here you have the unique opportunity to purchase these powerful Persian works of art and become the proud owner.

It should be noted that the second work (the table, the armchairs and the two pictures) was meant to be a complement, but can be considered as independent works of art. The Confederation of Iranian Craft Industries has done nothing else but makes it clear that it is not possible to arrange a reunification without international reprisals. To solve this problem the responsible asked the patron (not mentioned here) to make his treasure temporarily available for an art exhibition. In the 435m high Milad Tower in Tehran, the masterpiece crowned the exhibition. The visitors were enthusiastic and accompanying to the Persian coverage the BBC broadcasted a very positive report.

These motifs at the round table of history invite us to a journey throughtime that not only reflects war, corruption and imperialism. Indeed the focus is on foundations of philosophy and harmony. These interconnections raise the arty value of the Persian room. A kinglike seat where you literally have history in your back. If you look ahead you can get an overview of the Persian culture. A glance at the opposite image thus becomes an interesting aspect of antagonistic approaches. The story is spinning circles. It repeats itself in more or less periodic intervals. The synergy of the individual recordings stimulates us to learn from the past and to look hopefully forward to the future. History must never be forgotten and the glamorous periods from past must also be brought into the modern age.

TV report on Rasoul Motamedi

The estimated price is stated with 2 billion Toman (approximately 650,000 $ US) for the happy people who are able to buy this Persian miniatures. But this work should not be valued for money. Harmony in solidarity with philosophy and history is focused. A martial scene that is basically a game… the polo game. As a counterpoint the opposite image stylizes a paradisiacal scene of Persian mythology.
